Small Kitchen Appliances – Cooking with Miscellaneous Small Kitchen Appliances to Make Big Meals

Miscellaneous Small Kitchen appliances can be found in almost every home across the planet. Whether it is a microwave, crock pot or slow cooker, coffee maker, electric knife set the list goes on, but one thing is for sure, people who do have them claim are an asset to everyday cooking.

Some people use their crock pot to make entire meals while others may use it to make soups and desserts. (Yes, you can make lasagna as well!) I personally use mine to make roasts. I cover it with water; add the roast, potatoes, onions, sometimes celery and carrots. After cooking on low for approximately 6 or 7 hours, this small kitchen appliances has created a meal for me without any extra work on my behalf!

This means a heck of a lot less dishes for me to do, and a lot more time to spend with my family. And that is the whole purpose of miscellaneous small appliances. They are to give convenience with most cost efficiency. For example: No one would purchase these items if it increased the electricity bill, took more time to cook then a conventional oven, and made more dishes then a Thanksgiving Day Dinner with your 30 closest relatives, or cost more then an arm and a leg to purchase.

That would just be pointless. So the great makers of today are constantly coming out with more and more miscellaneous small kitchen appliances. Slow Cookers that have 5 programmable settings, toasters that have 4 slice openings, blenders that can puree (also with 6 settings), and food processors to make your own salsa or sauces in. Now that is convenience.

Really, who does not want to leave the house and come home to a cooked dinner? What miscellaneous small kitchen appliance have done for people, is allows them to make a meal all by themselves that they once thought was impossible because they did not have the right tools.

By having this essential kitchen equipment allows us to decrease the amount of preservatives that we use. (And if it does not, then it should!) All of the small kitchen appliances allow us to alter recipes and make dinners and drinks specifically to our own tastes. You cannot do that with a store bought prepackaged dinner, which includes too many additives, preservatives, calories and way too much salt.

Not to mention the effects of all this extra stuff on the body, but if we can all have the chance to limit the amount of caffeine and salt our children are consuming would you not take that opportunity? Having many different tools in the kitchen will increase the likelihood of your family eating properly and give everyone the chance to learn how to cook.

Spending time in the kitchen teaching our little men and women, or our husband or wife to cook entire meals will not only show them the importance of eating properly but how to make it without spending the extra money at the store. Basic Kitchen Appliances For Your Home

Do you have a morning ritual? I do, my morning ritual is to put some coffee on, make a few toasts and every now and then I like to spice it up with a fresh made glass of juice. The reason that I’m telling you this is because I came to realize that there are a few things in life I couldn’t do without. And I mean a lot of things, starting from some habits like that to the item’s I need on a regular basis. And some of those things are a few kitchen appliances that I have grown used to. So I guess every kitchen needs appliances and all of you also couldn’t do without them. So here are a few kitchen appliances I can’t go without on a daily basis.

My first choice of kitchen appliances I couldn’t do without, my first place choice is coffee maker. I got this Roma coffee maker I paid $200, if you think that’s expensive it’s not some of them go over $1000. Any way I think that coffee maker has more mileage that a 20 year old vehicle. I work a lot, and sometimes I spend over 16 hours a day stuck to my computer, and the only thing that keeps me going is that coffee maker. I would like to grab this opportunity to thank him for all the hard times we’ve been through together. He really stood by me.

My second choice of appliances is toaster. Now when we are talking about kitchen appliances that everybody has I guess this would be their first choice. No home can live without a toaster, what would we eat for breakfast, we would starve to death. Yeah, we got to have toasters; they are top necessity when it comes to kitchen appliances. I think I’m hungry now; I could go for some toast.

Third appliance I couldn’t live without is definitely juicer. I love to cook, but I don’t have time. And the only thing I can put fresh in me is a glass of fresh juice, which leads me directly to my fourth kitchen appliance I could do without and that’s blender. Like I said I need fresh things, and I use this blender for a special sauce of mine. Every vegetable or fruit I can find I put it in. Don’t tell anybody; after all it’s a special sauce. I think that blender saw more colors than a rainbow.

And the last kitchen appliance I couldn’t go without, and trust me this may come as a surprise is a bread maker. I grew up with my mom making homemade bread every Sunday. What can I say; I just can’t live without that smell. I think that’s the most beautiful smell in the world.

So, what do you think about my list of kitchen appliances? You know, it just occurred to me. Maybe the reason why I’m so attached to them is that those are the first appliances I have ever bought. Well I bought them because I knew I couldn’t live without them.

Stone age is to fire as new age to electricity. The morning today begins with the alarm clock, the electronic brushes making an early morning easier and water heaters turning the languid bath in a luscious spa. You throw your clothes in a fully automatic washer and dryer and ready for pulling the milk can from your new three-door defrost refrigerator. The oven, the toaster, the microwave and the coffee maker are all geared up to serve the fabulous feast you can ever imagine to gobble without a disagreement which comes complimentary when you play ‘Whodunnit’ instead of employing euphoric electric servants. Timeless and tidy appliances have chopped off those elaborate meal deals allowing you to drive down to your favorite beach house.

With our lives driving down the fast tracks, who has time to scrub and brush those small household chores? The elegant woman with the pearl necklace and high heels is all appreciative of the dishwasher and the vacuum cleaners, if not the husbands. You never imagined fun in the sun until air conditioners came into being. A prerequisite to the contemporary lifestyles appliances are a necessity than a luxury. The key to be a super mom today is to watch wonder kid and Electric house.

The Sunday newspaper, cricket in the afternoon with the smart kids and salsa in the evening to please your wife, would only be an unrealistic dream if the plug and play technology wasn’t invented. You don’t have to run to the employment bureaus anymore for the domestic help, just prepare yourself to pay the electricity bills and whoa! Life is bliss. Say goodbye to those muscle pulls, backaches, twisted necks and tired arms; enjoy the new taste of life. Though the appliances do it all for us (leaving us obese coupled with lung problems due to carbon monoxide released by them), aren’t we hungry for more?

Small Kitchen Appliance Overload – What Do I Really Need?

In my previous article, I discussed kitchen gadgets. While there are many choices for gadgets, there are also endless options for small appliances. The difference with the appliance section of that wonderful kitchen store is the price tags can get pretty hefty.

Let’s use the same criteria of money and space constraints, but another point to seriously consider with these purchases is if they are “one hit wonders”. Will you really get your money’s worth or will it end up at the garage sale or the give-away pile? We’ve all made those mistakes, so maybe I can save you some money and frustration.

Toaster: To me, an absolute necessity. Two or four slice depends on your family size, but wide slots are important. Are bagels a daily routine? Look for a temp control for bagels and English muffins. Throw in a set of bamboo toast tongs to save your fingers. Remember, cheap doesn’t always save you money, especially if the toast is bad. Food Processor: The food processor can be a workhorse in your kitchen. It can be the bread mixer, the blender for the margaritas, and slice and dice those veggies. I cook regularly and invested in a good food processor that is now 14 years old and works like new. Waffle Iron: There really isn’t a substitute for a good waffle iron. Toaster waffles taste like cardboard to me. Plain or Belgium – your call. So, if you are a waffle lover, this is a great appliance. While you are cooking, make enough waffles to freeze for future breakfasts. You know what you are eating with homemade. Crock Pot:. They have outlasted their fad reputation. Mine has saved my life more often than you would believe. Crock pots are useful for any sized family. Be sure the crockery liner is removable for cleaning ease. Multiple heat levels are a real plus. My favorite has a digital display that allows me to select the cooking time and holds at a keep warm temp. Coffee Maker: This is a very personal decision – you can go from basic to espresso to one cup filters to who knows what else. What I care about is that it makes a good cup of coffee, is well-manufactured, and is easy to clean. Remember the beans and the brewer contribute to that cup also! Microwave: If you don’t have a built-in microwave, seriously consider a counter-top. They are compact, efficient, cost effective, and a huge time saver.

This list is a good start to thinking about kitchen appliances, which should be purchased based on your real needs, not just the fads.
