Jodi Rrosenbaum is the founder and director of More than Words (MTW), a nonprofit empowering youth to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business. Rosenbaum piloted the online bookselling venture in 2004 and has grown the enterprise to include a storefront and online bookstore, café training program, and intensive case management services and is developing plans for replication. Prior to MTW, Rosenbaum worked for the Harvard After School initiative providing training and grant support to the Boston After School field. She taught for three years and worked in the child welfare/juvenile justice systems for three years. Jodi has a political science degree from Emory University with a focus on juvenile justice policy and a master's in education in risk and prevention from Harvard. She has taken supplemental coursework in Business and Social Enterprise at Harvard and Mit and is a certified National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) teacher. Rosenbaum has served as a guest lecturer at Bentley, Brandeis and Babson Universities and at the Social Enterprise Alliance and Teach For America conferences. She serves on the Area Board of Directors for the Department of Social Services. MTW Mission More than Words provides empowering leadership and supportive employment opportunities for youth who are in foster care, court-involved, homeless or out of school to prepare them for self-sufficiency as they transition to adulthood.
